As many of you may have heard back in March, had Lorin Coleman, the drummer in Thermals of the previous two years, left the band. The division was a friendly one with Lorin content to leave the Thermals to pursue other endeavors, one of which is playing in the band, Andy Combs and the Moth – A very eccentric and intriguing mix leans close to a bossa-nova sound. In the absence of Lorin, remaining members Hutch and Kathy have been gradually introduced a new album each in turn fur. Is that this would be more than a bit difficult to repeat life, The Thermals announced that they will be debuting a new drummer, along with songs from their forthcoming album, when they kick off a short December tour starts here in Seattle. You can catch them at Chop Suey on December 4. Then they’re off to Portland, Madrid, Barcelona, London, Utrecht and Groningen!
